Dried Hawaiian Ogo
HAWAIIAN SEAWEED
In Hawaii, limu is used in many dishes, in particular it is mixed in poke. Limu ogo is a poke ingredient in Hawaii and is a type of seaweed. Ogo is a seaweed that is grown in the ocean. When harvested, ogo is very tasty in poke dishes and in poke bowls. Our ogo is made in Hawaii.
By soaking the dried ogo in water for 5 minutes, it comes alive. After soaking it in water for 5 minutes, the ogo rehydrates. After submerging in water, drain and mix ogo in your favorite poke dishes and enjoy!
You can use rehydrated OGO after being stored in refrigerator only up to 2 days. Our package comes with 1 ounce of dried OGO. This is enough to make approximately 50 lbs of poke. The seaweed is crispy in texture. The red ogo has an onion taste, and a beautiful red color. The green ogo looks dark purple/green in color. It has a saltier taste than the red ogo and taste like the ocean.
Besides how incredibly "ono" our ogo is, it has major nutritional benefits. Ogo is considered a super food, and contains potassium, calcium, iron, and other minerals.
Studies have also shown that seaweed helps decrease stress and fatigue. Another added bonus is that ogo seaweed only contains about 45 calories/lb. Trust me, its Hawaiian Gold!!!!!
